According to this actor, it’s hard to find the line between real life and fiction.
Chestnut plays Ryan Nichols on “V,” a man who faces a life-altering decision when visitors from another planet arrive on earth. The remake of the classic 1980’s sci-fi series debuted last fall.
“V” airs Tuesday nights on /A\, with full episodes available online at CTV.ca.
When asked if he had a favourite scene with his co-stars Elizabeth Mitchell and Joel Gretsch, Chestnut came up speechless.
“I don't really have one particular favorite scene. To me, when I'm at work, I don't feel like I'm at work because I'm with the cast most of the time. And I'm having such a great time, and I really appreciate what they do, and I appreciate what everyone else does. So I don't have a favorite scene at this point,” says Chestnut.
“Every episode, you discover more things about each character as well. One of the things about this particular show, it's not just a science-fiction show. It's a character-based science-fiction show. In each episode, there will be certain type of reveals about each character that will be major revelations regarding the history of the character.”
As an actor, Chestnut was first noticed for his role as Ricky in “Boyz in the Hood,” followed by “The Ernest Green Story.” Born in Los Angeles, Chestnut spent time in the banking industry before pursuing acting, eventually studying at the Marla Gibbs Acting School.
The newest addition to the cast of “V” includes “Battlestar Galactica” alum Michael Trucco, taking on the role as underground Resistance leader, John May.
