Volunteers
On behalf of the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish, thank you for your interest in volunteering for our 45th season!
What?
We will need help with filling toy orders, unpacking donations, organizing the warehouse, loading and unloading of deliveries and maintenance of a clean and safe work environment. As we work for a short, intense period of time, volunteers must be willing to participate in all of these essential activities that are necessary to assist in the receipt and distribution of donations to the hundreds of agencies that we are committed to assisting each year. When?
November 7, 2011 to December 21, 2011.
2011 WAREHOUSE HOURS OF OPERATION for Volunteers:

To those who have already confirmed their volunteer shifts, we look forward to seeing you at the Wish Warehouse and thank you for your generous contribution to the 45th Annual CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish.
If you are interested in volunteering in 2012, please visit www.thewish.ca at the end of October 2012 to register online. All volunteer shifts are booked on a first come, first serve basis.
Thank you for helping to give a kid a Christmas!
Where?
The CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish headquarters and warehouse is located at 1366 Blundell Road, Mississauga.
Parking space at the warehouse is limited to CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish staff, only. Volunteers and visitors are asked to park their vehicles across the street at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church at 1375 Blundell Rd, Mississauga. Please park at the south end of the lot, further from the church and closer to the warehouse.
Many thanks to our kind neighbours at St. Sava for generously donating this space for the season!
*Please note: The Wish Warehouse is not wheelchair accessible.
Why?
There are many in need over the holiday season, so be a part of the amazing team.Who?
Every year, with the assistance of many volunteers, the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish helps give a happier holiday season to hundreds of thousands of individuals and families in need. The CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish would not be the success it is without the ongoing help of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers!
Please note: Space is limited. Group sizes may be limited depending upon warehouse requirements. ALL volunteers MUST be scheduled so as to promote a productive, safe and fun environment and experience. As the nature of the work we undertake can vary from day to day, volunteer time scheduled is not ‘guaranteed’ and may have to be cancelled or rescheduled as the needs of the program evolve.
Adults
All adult volunteers will be required to sign a Volunteer Acknowledgement / Release form on behalf of themselves and any minors volunteering with them. (A maximum of three (3) minors per adult volunteer will be allowed).
As it is a working warehouse environment, this volunteer activity is not for children under 12 years of age.
Volunteers under 18 years of age
For reasons of safety and productivity, an adult must accompany, supervise and work with anyone under the age of 18 who would like to volunteer. Sorting donations and filling toy requests is a great opportunity for families to spend time together during the weeks before the holidays, while helping children in need!
Students
Students and minors must be accompanied by an adult volunteer. (Max 3 minors per adult) Students wishing to accumulate community service hours will be granted those hours, at the discretion of the Wish Warehouse staff, if the student has been observed making a committed effort to contribute to the success of our program. Students who are not providing community service hour forms from their schools must download and fill out the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish Community Service Hours form, and bring it with them each time they volunteer (we do not track hours on behalf of the students).
We look forward to working with you to help give a kid a Christmas!
