Joey Arrigo says his strong work ethic, drive to be an individual, his incomparable technical ability, and strength are what sets him apart from other competitors, and landed him in SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA’s Season 4 Top 22.

Motivated by his sister to start taking dance lessons at three years old, Joey would like to follow in the dance steps of Brian Friedman. “He was an amazing dancer of his time, but never stepped out of the spotlight as he got older,” said Joey. “He is still one of the best dancers and choreographers in our industry.”

Although primarily trained in contemporary, ballet and jazz, Joey has spent time taking classes in tap, acrobatics, hip-hop, lyrical and musical theatre. He says that to become Canada’s Favourite Dancer, he will need “an extremely positive attitude and the ability to perform every style that is thrown at me without problem.”

From auditions to finals week, Joey said “no matter how tired, hungry or sore I am, dance is my first and foremost love and responsibility while I am on this show.” He will show viewers that he is a passionate dancer who respects the basics of technique.

Joey was surprised by the endless support and love that the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA Top 22 competitors have given each other. When asked what he wants viewers to know about him, Joey responded that dance has made him the person he is today. “Dance has shaped my opinions and outlook on life and has trained me to respect myself and others around me,” said Joey.
