Beginning Monday, November 30, rewind.CTV.ca delivers an overloaded, streamed-video buffet of favourite programs and specials to feast on this holiday season. CTV.ca is rewinding hit CTV and /A\ shows - making available for the first time full episodes from the beginning of the broadcast season - while also going back to where it all began with LOST, delivering holiday specials, and rounding out the Retro Minisode library with brand new titles.
For the first time, fans can now get caught up with the current broadcast season-to-date of "Grey's Anatomy" (including the two-hour season premiere), "Desperate Housewives," "Criminal Minds," "Flash Forward" and "Private Practice" -- a combined 44 episodes! Normally only available for a short time following their television broadcast, all episodes of these shows for the 09/10 season-to-date are available to stream online, on demand for the entire month of December.
For lapsed fans and viewers wanting to rewind and brush up on "Lost" mythology, clues, hints and additional vital information before the final season begins next February, CTV.ca features 1 to 4-minute Quick Cuts from all 97 episodes so far. Each fully re-edited and re-scored mini-episode features vital information about the complicated history and future of the passengers of Oceanic flight 815, secrets of The Island and murky truth about The Others.
"We have the best shows throughout the year on CTV.ca and we wanted to make sure the holiday season was no exception," said Stephan Argent, Vice-President of Digital Media for CTV. "With the full-season rewind of these shows along with full seasons from 'Flashpoint' and 'Degrassi: The Next Generation' and highlights from this past season of 'So You Think You Can Dance Canada,' we have more choice online than any of our Canadian competitors."
Plus, for the first time, a collection of holiday specials will be available online for rewind and family viewing following their television premieres.
"A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa," premiering Friday, December 11 at 8 p.m. ET on CTV, will be on the Rewind following the broadcast premiere. On Christmas Eve, Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo and the rest of the gang mistakenly avert three letters from making their way to Santa Claus. They need to get the letters to Santa in time, and hope that nothing can stand in the way of their happy Christmas. Guest stars include Whoopi Goldberg, Uma Thurman, Richard Griffiths and Jane Krakowski. "So You Think You Can Dance Canada's" Paul Becker choreographed the special and also makes an appearance.
Adding to the holiday fare is a prime-time Oprah Winfrey special. Oprah ushers in the holidays at the White House, visiting President Obama and the First Lady as they prepare for their family's first Christmas there on "Christmas at the White House: An Oprah Primetime Special." The intimate, informative and entertaining hour-long special includes a one-on-one conversation with the President, marking the first time Oprah has interviewed him since he took office, as well as an exclusive sit-down interview with the First Couple. The special showcases all the behind-the-scenes preparations as the White House gets ready for the holiday season. "Christmas at the White House" will be available online following the broadcast premiere Sunday, December 13 at 10 p.m. ET.
To add to the rewind experience, CTV.ca is adding more titles to the more than 200 RETRO MINISODES available exclusively on the website. December will see the addition of "Good Times," "I Dream of Jeannie" and "Parker Lewis Can't Lose." The minisodes provide five-minute snackable episodes from the hit shows of the past like "Diff'rent Strokes," "TJ Hooker" and "Charlie's Angels."
