Die-hard “Lost” fans have been both looking forward to, yet at the same time dreading, this Sunday’s epic finale for years now. After six seasons of smoke monsters, flash backs, flash-forwards and flash sideways, not to mention the epic battle of good and evil, Losties will finally (or hopefully!) get some answers.

And what better way to watch this momentous episode than getting all of your “Lost”-watching friends together for a big finale viewing celebration.

First things first – invitations

If you’re feeling crafty, make Flight 815 boarding pass invitations for your guests. Instead of LAX as the destination, slip in your address and be sure to include the Oceanic Airlines logo in the top corner. Aisle seats for everyone!

If your friends are more of a tech-savvy bunch consider CTV’s Finale Party evite template – a quick and easy way to rally your friends together for Jack and Locke ’s final curtain call.

Dress up as your favourite character – alive, dead or completely abstract

Nothing says a finale party like dressing up as your favourite character – alive or dead! Put on a white tank top for Kate or scrubs and a lab coat for flashback Jack. And don’t forget your favourite paperback and a bit of scruff if you’re going as Sawyer.

For a quick and easy costume, jumpsuits are easy enough to find at a vintage shop – just pin on this printable Dharma logo and you’re set.

If you’re feeling more abstract, dress up as one of the loopholes (a necklace of rope, perhaps!), the hatch, or dig around in your Halloween decorations for cobweb material if you want to go as the Smoke Monster.

If dressing up isn’t your thing, get your guests to bring one thing they couldn’t live without on a desert island – a CD, a book, a favourite outfit, etc…

Paper airplanes and tiki torches

To get the island feel, move all your house plants into your living room and cover the food table with banana leaves and rattan place settings. Set the island mood by lighting the room with candles.

Hang paper airplanes from the ceiling, or in doorways, marked with Oceanic Airlines logo and if you’re feeling extra crafty, make an Oceanic Flight 815 piñata.

If the Dharma Initiative station is more your thing, set up your living room with an old computer blinking on the start-up screen. Paper the wall behind your TV with maps of the Pacific, or use the maps as a tablecloth.

If you decide to set up outside, put up a tarp over the deck as a makeshift "shelter" or get authentic and light tiki torches.

If you happen to stumble upon a stash of Virgin Mary statues, pile them in opened suitcases and add in drinks with these Dharma labels or bags of Dharma crisps. A few scattered pieces of clothing will add to the crashed airplane feel.

And because music is an integral component to the “Lost” experience, get in the mood by clicking here and downloading this “Lost” playlist.

Coconut cups and Dharma Initiative cupcakes

Nothing says a Pacific island like coconuts. Though Jack and Kate didn’t get to drink cocktails out of coconuts, get your guests into the island vibe with piña coladas and daiquiris. If you’re adventurous, try splitting coconuts in half for cups.

If you’re feeling particularly inspired, host a full-on ‘wild boar’ roast, or perhaps go smaller scale and do wild boar (bacon!) wrapped pineapple.

A Dharma initiative cake is easy as…cake – ice a round 8” cake in white, then pipe the octagonal insignia with chocolate icing. Or make a batch of cupcakes and stick these Dharma initiative logos onto toothpicks and add them on top.

If you’re still wondering about those ever-elusive numbers, pick up numbered birthday candles and on the top of the cake, spell out 4-8-15-16-23-42. You might not find out their significance, but at least the cake will be delicious.

Fruit platters will get the island theme going, but make sure your food is Dharma Initiative certified with these printable labels. Beer, wine, cola, chips (or crisps as the Dharma initiative likes to call them) and salsa will make for an authentic island feast. Click here for all our printable Dharma labels.

Once the finale starts, Dharma beer in hand, get your friends playing a game where every time you see a Dharma logo, you have to drink and yell, "Down the hatch!”

Extras…

Invites, food, costumes, and Dharma beer – you’re all set for Sunday. Just don’t forget to stock up on tissues, if there’s one certainty, it’s going to be a tear-jerker saying goodbye to the island.

Also, we've dug through the archives and found this Dharma Initiative instructional video detailing how to enjoy the series finale of Lost. Click here to watch it now.

The "Lost" finale event starts 7/4C. on Sunday, May 23 on CTV.
