Kim Raver graduates to cast member on 'Grey's Anatomy'
After joining the medical drama earlier this year, this former ‘24’ star has now become a series regular.
Kim Raver debuted earlier this season as Teddy Altman, the newest cardiothoracic doctor at Seattle Grace-Mercy West. Altman was brought into the hospital by her colleague Owen, played by Kevin McKidd, who served with her while on tour with the army in Iraq.
McKidd first appeared as the war veteran last season, and has had a troubled and passionate relationship with Cristina (Sandra Oh).
Following her arrival at the hospital, Teddy confessed her true romantic feelings to Owen -- and is now stirring up drama between him and his girlfriend, Cristina, who despite the circumstances, is still being tutored by Teddy.
Cristina has spent the past season floundering at the hospital, without any serious heart “gods” to nurture her talent. Her previous mentors included Dr. Preston Burke (Isaiah Washington), Dr. Erica Hahn (Brooke Smith) and guest surgeon Dr. Virginia Dixon, played by “Battlestar Galactica” lead Mary McDonnell.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Raver is expected to appear in the remaining episodes this year. The actress has also starred in the short-lived series, “Lipstick Jungle.”
“Grey’s Anatomy” airs Thursday nights on CTV, with full episodes available online at Watch.CTV.ca.
