'Dexter' star Julie Benz set for recurring role on 'Desperate Housewives'
Benz will play a stripper who is given a chance to turn her life around.
In the episode “The Glamorous Life,” which airs Sunday, Jan. 31st on CTV, Susan (the new owner of a strip club, thanks to her dead ex-husband Karl) befriends one of the club’s dancers, Robin (Benz).
Robin, despite being a stripper, has a master’s degree in education, and is given a chance to switch into a legitimate career.
“Desperate Housewives” is currently in its fifth season.
Benz is best known for her portrayal as Rita, the wife of Michael C. Hall’s titular serial killer on “Dexter.” In a recent update to her twitter account (@JulieBenz) about a recent experience filming her appearance, the actress says “No one knows this but I am the biggest fan!!!”
The 37-year-old has recently appeared in the films “The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day,” “Saw V” and “Rambo,” with guest-starring appearances on “Law & Order” and “CSI.”
“Desperate Housewives” stars Eva Longoria Parker, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross and Teri Hatcher, and airs Sunday nights on CTV. Full episodes are also available online at Watch.CTV.ca.
