“There was a bit of magic to it, for sure,” writes Brent Butt in his foreword. “Who knows, maybe none of us will ever experience that level of magic again in our future work. That’s always the concern when you’ve had something so special. My true and honest comment to that is: ‘Who cares? We had this. And we were able to share it with a hell of a lot of people.”

Months after the ratings topper finale, questions from fans are still pouring in via emails, letters and phone calls.  Will there be a "Corner Gas" movie? How did they get all those big-name guest stars to appear in episodes? In Dog River Confidential, Sponagle takes readers behind the scenes of Seasons 4 to 6, uncovering the real-life inspirations that shaped each episode’s storylines through more in-depth interviews, more secrets revealed and more fun trivia facts. The book also takes readers through a heart-felt journey of the emotional last day of shooting the very last episode. Beyond the show, fans get an in-depth look at the impact the success "Corner Gas" made on Canadian television. Critics and producers chat about the end of CORNER GAS as an end to an era.

“The stories surrounding "Corner Gas" are truly extraordinary,” said Michele Sponagle. “They really deserve to be told, especially now that 'Corner Gas' has become a part of Canadian television history. Because of the amazing response of the first book, I knew that there was still an appetite among the fans to learn even more about the show.”

Dog River Confidential joins a long list of "Corner Gas" milestones including 80 award nominations, chart-topping DVDs and its preceding publication Tales From Dog River, which landed at #2 on the BookManager bestseller list. "Corner Gas" currently airs in over 26 countries worldwide including Canada’s own The Comedy Network, and is available on demand at ctv.ca and thecomedynetwork.ca.

Michele Sponagle is a Paris, Ontario based journalist and editor who has contributed to many of Canada’s best-known publications, including Flare, Chatelaine, enRoute, The Globe and Mail, Reader’s Digest, and the Toronto Star.
