CTV 2010 holiday programming lineup unwrapped
CTV unwraps its holiday programming lineup, featuring a variety of festive specials, Christmas classics, jolly stunt programming, and more.
The announcement comes just days after the network’s unprecedented coverage of "The Santa Claus Parade" and features two feel good favourites that join CTV’s holiday schedule for the first time: Disney’s "One Magic Christmas", premiering Sunday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. ET; followed by "Uncle Buck" at 9 p.m. ET.
Viewers can also spend Christmas Day (Dec. 25) with everyone’s favourite green ogre, as CTV presents its inaugural "Shrek-a-thon", featuring the first three blockbuster hits airing back-to-back, beginning at 12 p.m. ET.
Then, CTV rings in the New Year with the North American broadcast premiere of the hilarious comedy, "Knocked Up" (Dec. 31 at 11:30 p.m. ET), starring Katherine Heigl and Canada’s own Seth Rogan.
etalk returns with an array of brand-new, year-end specials airing daily at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. ET, beginning Monday, Dec. 20, including etalk’s annual "Holiday Movie Guide" (Dec. 20 & 24). Also airing on New Year’s Eve, "etalk Presents: The Year in Gossip 2010," airing Dec. 31 at 7 p.m. ET.
The holidays wouldn’t be the same without contemporary specials like "Shrek the Halls" and "Lanny & Wayne: The Christmas Elves in Prep & Landing" and holiday classics such as "It's a Wonderful Life," the original 1951 black and white version of "A Christmas Carol," "A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa" and "The Sound of Music."
Additional marathon stunts add to the packed lineup featuring Best Of episodes of "Dan for Mayor," "Hiccups," "Flashpoint" and a "So You Think You Can Dance Canada" New Year’s Eve marathon. Meanwhile, "CSI: NY," "The Mentalist" and "Human Target" join in the celebration with holiday-themed episodes.
The following will also be available in the CTV Video Player:
- "Lanny & Wayne: The Christmas Elves in Prep and Landing" (Starting Wednesday Dec. 1)
- "A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa" (Starting Wednesday Dec. 8)
