As of 9:45pm ET Fri. Jan 22, more than $7.1 million had been raised representing more than 72,025 individual donations. When matched by the federal government, the amount increases to $14.2 million.
Donations accepted during the broadcast went towards a coalition of Canadian NGOs, including Canadian Red Cross Society, Care Canada, Free the Children, Oxfam Canada, Oxfam Quebec, Plan Canada, Save the Children Canada, UNICEF Canada and World Vision Canada.
