Rex Linn
Rex Linn's passion for acting started at a young age when he grew up in his small Texas town watching monster movies starring Boris Karloff and Lon Chaney, and westerns starring John Wayne. After he earned a B.A. degree in radio, television and film from Oklahoma State University, he found a job with an oil company and eventually landed in banking, where he became the vice president of his branch. It was shortly after that when, in the middle of processing a loan for a young man who was talking about how his loan was going to help him fulfill his lifelong dream, Linn went into his boss's office and turned in his resignation. He knew that it was time for him to live out his dream of being an actor. Although he was already in his early 30s at the time, he moved to Los Angeles and was able to convince a talent agent to take a chance on him and the rest is history. In 1989, Rex was cast as serial killer Floyd Epps in the feature film "Night Game." However, his big break came when he landed the role of Richard Travers, the bad U.S. Treasury agent in the film "Cliffhanger," which stayed at the #1 spot in America for four weeks. Since then he has appeared in over 30 films, including "After the Sunset," "Cheaper by the Dozen," "Rush Hour," "Breakdown," "Jack Bull," "Ghosts of Mississippi," "Tin Cup" and "Clear and Present Danger." His television credits include JAG, on the Network, "Third Rock from the Sun" and SNOOPS.
Linn was born in Spearman, Texas and now lives in Los Angeles. His birth date is Nov. 13.
Det. Frank Tripp
A “Cop’s Cop” with more than 20 years experience on the street, Frank Tripp has proven his value to Horatio Caine’s CSI team time and time again, thus earning the non-forensics-educated officer a key role in Caine’s squad. What Tripp lacks in formal forensics training, he makes up for in street experience and crime-solving instinct. He has an uncanny sense for recognizing when a suspect is lying, or when a crime scene or situation seems too “hinky” to be as it appears. A no-nonsense interviewer, Tripp lets suspects know right off the bat what his mission is, as well as his determination to complete it.CSI: Miami Photos
