Lexie from Geneva, Ill., was the next contestant on “America’s Next Top Model” to be eliminated after Tyra Banks didn’t think she was invested enough in the competition. The 18-year old chatted with CTV.ca about what she thought of Tyra’s comments, how she did so well in the conveyor belt challenge and why there was so much animosity with Kacey.

CTV.ca: Tyra Banks didn’t think you were invested in the competition. Did you agree with her?

Lexie: No, I didn’t. I definitely was invested in the competition but if that’s what she thinks then she’s the one who knows what she’s talking about. I wasn’t devastated.

CTV.ca: The judges thought your story wasn’t translating in your picture from the wrestling photo shoot. What did you think of the picture?

Lexie: I have an issue with the entire photo shoot. I don’t like the picture. I don’t like the concept. I don’t like the styling. If there’s any photo shoot to be eliminated on I think that was a good one.

CTV.ca: Did you know during the shoot it wasn’t going that well?

Lexie: Yes, absolutely. Mr. Jay makes it very clear if you’re not doing well and I knew I was going home after that photo shoot.

CTV.ca: Do you think that was a bit unfair considering you had done well throughout the rest of the competition?

Lexie: Yeah and I did very well at the challenge earlier but I don’t know. I made it far enough for me … I wanted to win but it wasn’t everything to me. It wasn’t a life or death situation for me and I was just proud of myself for getting on the show.

CTV.ca: How difficult was the conveyor belt challenge? You did remarkably well compared to a lot of the other girls.

Lexie: It was so difficult. It was scary. We actually had to do it twice. The first time we did it you don’t know what’s coming. You think, ‘Ok, it’s a conveyor belt, I’ve been on a treadmill before, not that hard.’ Then you get on there and realize it’s definitely difficult … the second time it was sped up so that was worse. I’m very gangly and I don’t have good balance so I’m surprised I did well.

CTV.ca: What was it like to meet Karolina Kurkova? Was the advice she gave you on health and nutrition helpful?

Lexie: It was great. She is so nice and very helpful and she just seemed very down to earth.

My mom is a nurse and she focuses on preventative medicine and nutrition so I’ve kind of heard it all before but I think it benefited some girls.

CTV.ca: What was all the animosity between you and Kacey about?

Lexie: It started with casting week. She definitely set me up and she admitted it to Chris and Terra, which they didn’t show. I think she only gets along with a specific type of person. No one in the house liked her because she was just very rude and self-centered and if I ever say something behind someone’s back I’ll definitely say it to their face.

The first fight we got in, she said, ‘Why do you have such an attitude with me?’ and I said, ‘I don’t like you’ and that’s how the whole thing started.

CTV.ca: You just said it wasn’t life or death if you won or not but are you kind of mad you got sent home before Kacey?

Lexie: I’m not mad about it. I’m not as bitter as I seemed (on the show).  But I don’t understand, based on potential, I’m the one who was told I looked like a model and in every single photo shoot she was told she looked like an athlete or an actress.

CTV.ca: What are your plans now?

Lexie: I’m going to continue modeling but I’m definitely focusing on acting from here on out. It’s something I’ve always been interested in. There’s a lot of things in the fashion industry that I love but there’s also a lot of things that I really don’t want to be a part of. I think acting is more dynamic and something I’d be good at.
